PURPOSE
In response to the needs of the Varina community, Laurel Hill United Methodist Church has committed its resources and talents to children's weekday Outreach programs. These programs are an active part of the life and ministry of Laurel Hill UMC. We accept the opportunity through our morning Preschool and After School child care to share our values of love, caring, cooperation and forgiveness. The church child care programs work together to enhance the spiritual, mental and physical growth of children in our community.
Anyone interested in more information regarding the Preschool, After School or Summer Weekday Programs, please contact the church office at 795-2772. The church office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Necessary forms are listed above for your convenience.
OBJECTIVES
Preschool: To help stimulate the children's curiosity, creativity and desire to learn.
After School: To provide a safe, secure place for children to work and play.
ACTIVITIES
Preschool: The day is planned to help children make discoveries about themselves and the world around them. The classroom atmosphere gives the children the opportunity to use materials in exploring, experimenting and giving creative expression to their ideas and feelings. Playground time is scheduled each day, weather permitting. Class field trips to local parks, businesses and other areas of interest in our community are also scheduled from time to time.

have a wonderful opportunity at Laurel Hill during the
Summer months. We have a structured program consisting of
play, music, special craft activities, field trips and
occasional all-day activities. We also do service
projects such as visits to local nursing homes, make
crafts and write pen pal letters to nursing home
residents. The children bring
lunch two days a week and we provide lunch three days a
week in addition to two snacks a day. We also provide time
twice a day for devotions, which may be acting out a
play, reading the Bible or other special stories,
watching a film about a Bible story, doing a puzzle, etc.
The children really enjoy this opportunity. Children ages three and four years old have an opportunity to
enjoy less structured activities during the summer months. Activities
consist of play, music, craft fun, limited field trips, outdoor structured play
and occasional all-day activities. Devotions are provided twice a
day. Lunch is provided to the children as well as two snacks each day. The cost for the Summer Program
is $114
per week (all fees are included in this cost). There is a $20.00 non-
refundable registration fee. (Note: There are no discounts
given for siblings during the Summer Program because activity fees are part of
