We would like to invite all of the children to come and join our Children's Choir. At the present time, all ages are combined into one Choir, but hopefully, when more children participate, we will have more than one Children's Choir. Parents are encouraged to participate in Sunday School during Choir practice time.

This cookbook is a compilation of
recipes gathered from the members of Laurel Hill United Methodist
Church. We still have some available for $12.00 each.
If you would like to purchase a cookbook please contact the church office
at

THE
WEEKDAY SCHOOL has all day 3 and 4 year-old preschool
classes, an after school and a summer program for school
aged children. If you have any questions regarding
registration, please refer to the Laurel Hill Weekday
School page or contact the school office at

PRAYER CHAIN - We are in need of people to be part of our prayer chain. When a need is called in, the people pass it to the next person on the chain and also being to pray for the particular concern. If it is hard for you to get out, but you want to do something special for the Lord at your church and in your community, the Prayer Chain is a great opportunity. PEOPLE NEED PRAYER! You can do it from your home, job, car or wherever you may be. In any situation, pray first! Won't you help take care of the prayer needs of others? Contact Dot Gay at 795-5196 or Lois Ann Hood at 222-9505 or through the church office and volunteer for this very important ministry. We need your prayers.
COMPASSION MINISTRY - This ministry provides food to those in our church in need or in crisis. We are grateful to all who have so willingly helped in the past. Help in these times is truly appreciated by our church family and those who participate find it very rewarding. If you would like to be added to our list of volunteers, please contact Mildred Dawson at 795-1174 or Bobbie Saunders at 714-0047 or through the church office. You may also contact the church office if you know of someone in need of this service.
ADOPT A SHUT-IN PAL - Would you like to adopt one of our sick or shut-in persons as your "pal"? Many of them are located within our immediate area. A "pal" would send a card, make a phone call and when convenient, visit. Many persons feel forgotten by their church family. Their names are listed each week in the bulletin. David and Becky visit these persons periodically, however, they are also visiting those in the hospital and those experiencing bereavement. Your help is needed. Please step forward and help us remember these precious people who can no longer attend church. Call the office or Nancy Bergemann at 514-0845 if you are willing to help. This will be a most rewarding experience.
HELPING HANDS - Volunteers are desperately needed to pick up bread products from the store each week. Please call Susan Nowell at 795-9077 if you would be willing to do this, weekly or even occasionally. A special thank you to those who have been so faithful in assisting with this project.
EVANGELISM COMMITTEE - Good People Needed - Prayerful consideration and assistance is needed to reach our initial strategic objectives: (1) outreach of warmth and caring within the congregation incorporating all those in our church family, (2) programs that appeal and reach out to our existing church family and the Varina community, and (3) integration of stewardship to all aspects of our church activities. Our church does much -- it can do more. Our church is caring -- it can be more caring. Together we can make Laurel Hill UMC a model of Christian brotherhood and a shining beacon in our community, full of warmth, love, caring and a family that fills our sanctuary, Sunday School classes, and Fellowship Hall. Please join us in this effort. Contact Cindy or Bud Funk at 222-3176.
CHANGE OF ADDRESS, PHONE #, ETC: We need your updated information for our church records. Forms to make corrections are available in the office or you can just write them on paper. If anything has changed, (i.e. name, address, phone #, children, E-mail address, etc) please update and give us this information. Place them in the offering plate or return them to the church office. Thank you for your assistance.
DURING APRIL Collection for FISH is LAUNDRY DETERGENT . Thank you for all you do to support this worthwhile ministry.
COMMUNION DELIVERERS: A very important part of our worship outreach ministry is the coordination of communion delivery to our sick and shut-ins. This ministry entails delivering communion on the first Sunday of each month after our worship service and covered dish luncheon. Anyone interested in participating in this ministry, please talk with David for more details. We know that the deliverers will be blessed as well as those who are visited.
